"Fresh Face" Make-over Contest 2011
-A new contest is blossoming on Facebook for local salon, MAGNOLIAS SALON & SPA.
The “Fresh Faces” makeover contest is designed to reward people who inspire others with their optimism. Community members can nominate someone who has inspired them with their generous giving to others, working through a difficult time or being their personal best. The selected recipients will receive hair color and design (cut and color), manicure, pedicure, makeup and massage with free take-home products.
We understand that people try to do more and more with the time that they have, acknowledged Julie Honohan, Owner and Master Stylist at Magnolias Salon & Spa. “We are inspired by individuals who continue to be a pillar of optimism and selflessness, regardless of circumstance,” she said.
To enter the contest, entrants must email a story, picture and/or video to magnoliassalonandspa@gmail.com telling the salon why their candidate is the most deserving. Entries should include the candidate’s full name and contact information including email address. Entrants are also encouraged to post their stories, pictures and vi
deos directly to the MAGNOLIAS SALON & SPA Facebook page, at http://www.facebook.com/magnoliassalonwp.
Winning stories will be featured on the MAGNOLIA’S SALON & SPA Facebook page. “Looking your best helps your outward appearance, your self esteem, your stress level and your feeling of self worth,” Honohan said. “Awarding makeovers is our way of giving back to the community that has given us so much,” she said.
Nominations for the Magnolias “Fresh Faces” contest end on March 15. A total of three (3) candidates will be recognized. MAGNOLIAS SALON & SPA is a full service salon in its eighth year in Winter Park, Florida. The staff has continued to grow and evolve to serve the needs of the Central Florida community. Magnolias Salon and Spa held its first annual Make-over event. Winners were nominated by a loved one during the months of Nov and Dec. and made over on Jan 24th. Winners were chosen for their acts of kindness, selflessness and respect for others. All winners put their own needs behind everyone elses in their lives on a regular basis. All of these five women have not had the time or means to take care of their own beauty needs because their spare time is spend helping and caring for their families, community and co-workers. All 5 winners received hair cut and style, hair color, manicure, paraffin, massage, make-up application and take home products to maintain their new look. It was a wonderful experience for us to be a part of and we have been inspired by all these women to do another make-over event in the summer as our way to continue to given back.
